This is the ATI Radeon Catalyst Display Driver version 7.8 For Windows
Vista(32bit), released by Advanced Micro Devices(AMD). This release
updates the AMD Display Driver to version 8.401, supports all Radeon
Desktop products(ATI Radeon
9550/9600/9700/9800/X300/X550/X600/X700/X800/X850/X1300/X1600/X1650/X1800/X1900/X1950/HD
2400/HD 2600/HD 2900 XT/X800XL). This unified driver has been further
enhanced to provide the highest level of power, performance, and
reliability.
Performance Improvements
- The following performance improvements are noticed with Catalyst 7.8:
- Lost Planet DX10 with anti-aliasing improves 11% or greater on Radeon HD2900XT products
- Radeon HD2600 and Radeon HD2400 (single and CrossFire) show improvements of as much as 6% in 3DMark 2006 and 3DMark 2005
- Serious Sam 2 with HDR enabled improves as much as 14.5% on Radeon HD2900, Radeon HD2600 and Radeon HD2400 products
Note: When installing the Catalyst Vista driver for Windows Vista, the user must logged on as an Administrator or have Administrator rights in order to successfully complete the installation of the Catalyst Vista driver.
Caution: Once the driver installation is completed under the Vista operating system, the driver log file may report that the ATI T200 Unified AVStream Driver failed to install. A reboot of the operating system resolves the issue.
